The Challenge

Following its merger with TSYS, Global Payments needed to evolve from a primarily SMB-focused entity into a unified brand appealing to large financial institutions, retailers, and multinational enterprises. The organization sought a fresh identity that balanced innovation with proven performance, highlighted its newly expanded payments ecosystem, and conveyed client leadership worldwide. 

The Solution

I led a comprehensive rebrand, developing a flexible visual system that retained Global Payments’ core blue while introducing energetic accent colors, modern typography, and a dynamic illustration style. These elements were guided by new brand principles—“Connect,” “Simplify,” and “Magnify”—to emphasize seamless collaboration, streamlined solutions, and the expanded breadth of services. The updated brand platform communicated both innovation and stability, making it easier for internal teams and external partners to adopt a consistent look and feel across all customer touchpoints. 

The Impact

By repositioning Global Payments as a global leader equipped to serve a broader client base, the rebrand played a key role in driving business results. Within two years, the merchant business achieved a 13% increase in adjusted net revenue, and the issuer business grew by 5%. The new identity resonated with existing clients, attracted new enterprise partnerships, and set the stage for sustainable growth in an increasingly competitive payments landscape.
